MJ POST 6

During class this week, we didn’t talk about many things due to our main focus being on our group projects. However, we continued to talk about groups such as black lives matter and the alt right. The collaboration from these groups are seen at around the same level due to a strong social media base and a strong support system. We also looked at police violence and how it played a role on twitter with hash tags from people who were in support of the police claiming they took the right measure and others disagreeing. There was a line seen that spilt these people and made it clear that the issue had an opinion which was divided.

During the rest of the time we focused on our group projects. Since this was a big part of our grade, we made sure to spend a lot of time going about and collaborating with each other. Some people collaborated better than others and some didn’t collaborate at all. From this group project I learned many things but what stood out was that people all care about their grades different. Having had ideas stolen in class to people not putting in minimal effort, it is clear to see that many people just don’t really care. It is funny considering that college isn’t cheap but people are able to do what they want. Having too many people in a group also makes it easier for some people to get over. Working in groups of 3-4 would have been more ideal for this project but time will only tell.

  1. Hi Miros! I totally agree with you in our last paragraph when talking about group work. I think that our group did have to many people in it with this type of simple project. With there being little work for everyone it made it difficult for some people to find stuff to contribute with. Though at first we did think it would be much easier to have more than the required five people I would say that at the end it ended up not working out as well and you could tell from the final outcome of presenting our projects that day. Though I am still happy with our groups grade and presentation.
