Coming into this class, I had no idea what to expect and after all these weeks I feel that I have a strong understanding of collaboration in an online setting. From blogs to discussions to group projects, I learned more about interacting with people through the use of the internet going beyond social media. From updating a wiki post to learning about copyright infringement, my internet IQ and knowledge are very high and now a valuable part of my life. Looking back at all my previous posts, I can see each new topic I learned and how I could relate it to what is around me. The post that stands out to me the most is the one I did about RIP and how artists copy each other. It showed me that there is nothing organic or completely original. Everything is copied from something else. However, there is still creativity needed in order to alter such works into something else. This is something that I plan on doing this summer by tinkering with software and programs offered online.

All my replies were good but the one I had with Wyatt show my confidence in my group and our grade. To me, seeing such motivated people, open my eyes up to the level of collaboration that was being achieved. My other post about diversity also showed me that gender plays a major role in how certain things are viewed. My comment to another student relates to how technology and laws are not up to date. Both of these examples showed me that the world we live in needs to be almost analyzed and view from different perspectives but also monitored 24/7 if we want to be the most advanced technological country in the world. From all these posts and examples, I have been able to learn more about my views and shape how I think. The Miros of today is modern and with the times but also understands diversity and collaborating.

Over the semester I have interacted with many great individuals. However, since you asked me to pick three, I feel that I was influenced by Eden, Monica, and Katie. Eden showed me organization and also strong leadership qualities. From the project idea to the meet ups and the collect of every member’s idea, I feel that Eden is a strong leader who can interact well with multiple platforms. Having Eden in charge was very reassuring but also motivated me to work as hard as I could.  Monica is the prime example of a person who goes above and beyond. While Monica wasn’t the necessarily the leader of our first group project, she showed that she cared greatly about the project and took the time to ask for input as well as help others outside of the class. She taught me what it really means to focus and to exchange advice in a digital academic format. Katie interacted very well with all the group members and also provided positive energy. Katie is very responsible and offers help when needed. Since I have Katie in three of my classes, I see these traits weekly and she has provided assistance when needed in a detailed manner.

Overall, my experience in ESOC has been sublime. From the Professor to the students even the assignments, I have been impacted greatly by all of these things and am very pleased with my performance and my overall level of enjoyment in this class. Hopefully I will take another ESOC class soon and will continue to further my learning in this great subject!
